WEST CHINA UNION UNIVERSITY BOARD OF TRUSTEES Thursday, September 29th, 1927, at 9 A.M. AGENDA Election of Chairman and Secretary of the Meeting. Election of Chairman and Secretary of the Board of Trustees. Election of such Trustees as are required by the terms of the Charter, in order to bring the number up to the Statutory twenty-five. For the information of the members, the terms of the Charter are subjoined, as follows :- "THE UNIVERSITY OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK Provisional Charter of West China Union University. This Instrument Witnesseth That the Regents of the University of the State of New York have grantod this provisional charter incorporating. Rev. Austin K. DeBlois, Rev. Joseph Beech, Rev. James Endicott, Vincent Massey, Rev. Canon E. Price Devereaux, James Edmund Clark, Rev. Cyril C.B. Bardsley, Rev. John Franklin Goucher, Mornay Williams, William North Rice, Rev. Richard Pinch Bowles, Ross A. Hadley, Rev. F. Baylis, Henry T. Hodgkins, Michael Badler, William O. Gantz, Rev. Emory William Hunt, Rev. James Henry Franklin, Newton W. Rowell, Goorgo Vaux, Jr., Rev. Frank Anderson, H. Wilson Harris, T.R. W. Lunt, Rev. Frank Mason North and James Wood, and their successors and associates as a university for the elementary, secondary and higher education of youth in China, under the corporate name of "West China Union University", to be located at Chengtu, in the Province of Szechwan, China, with the principal office to be located in the Borough of Manhattan, in the City, County and State of New York, with twenty- five trustees who shall be known as the Governors of the University, to be at first the persons named herein as incorporators, to hold in the order of their naming, eight until the annual meeting of the University in the year 1922, eight until the annual meeting in 1923, and nine until the annual meeting in 1924 and until their successors shall be chosen by the members of the corporation each year in place of those whose terms	华西协合大学 董事会会议记录 1927年9月29日（星期四）上午9时 议程 一、选举本次会议主席及秘书 二、选举董事会主席及秘书 三、依据特许状条款，补选必要董事，使董事总数达到法定25人。 现将纽约州大学董事会颁发的《华西协合大学临时特许状》全文附后，以供与会者参阅： 纽约州大学董事会 华西协合大学临时特许状 兹证明：纽约州大学董事会（The Regents of the University of the State of New York）特颁发本临时特许状，批准以下人士及其继任者与同事共同组建一所旨在为中国青少年提供初等、中等及高等教育的大学，校名为“华西协合大学”（West China Union University），校址设于中国四川省成都；主要办公机构设于纽约州纽约市曼哈顿区。 大学董事会由25名董事组成，称“大学理事会理事”（Governors of the University）。首批理事即下列署名之创办人，按署名顺序： 奥斯汀·K·德布卢瓦牧师、约瑟夫·比奇牧师、詹姆斯·恩迪科特牧师、文森特·梅西、E·普赖斯·德弗罗牧师、詹姆斯·埃德蒙·克拉克、西里尔·C·B·巴兹利牧师、约翰·富兰克林·高彻牧师、莫奈·威廉斯、威廉·诺思·赖斯、理查德·平奇·鲍尔斯牧师、罗斯·A·哈德利牧师、F·贝利斯牧师、亨利·T·霍奇金斯、迈克尔·巴德勒、威廉·O·甘茨、埃默里·威廉·亨特牧师、詹姆斯·亨利·富兰克林牧师、牛顿·W·罗威尔、小乔治·沃克斯、弗兰克·安德森牧师、H·威尔逊·哈里斯、T·R·W·伦特牧师、弗兰克·梅森·诺思牧师、詹姆斯·伍德。 理事任期：首批理事中，前8名任期至1922年年度大会止；次8名至1923年年度大会止；其余9名至1924年年度大会止。
expire within that year, one from the American Baptist Foreign Mission Society, one from the Friends Mission Association, Great Britain and Ireland, one from the General Board of Missions of the Methodist Church of Canada, one from the Board of Foreign Missions of the Methodist Episcopal Church, one from the Church Missionary Society, and the remainder from the Board of Governors of the University as it may be constituted from time to time, and to hold office for terms of three years each with power in them to increase or decrease its membership in such manner and upon such terms as shall be provided for by the general rules of its trustees, with power in them from time to time by unanimous vote of their full board to fix their terms of office and their number to be not more than twenty-five nor less than five. Bardsley, Mr. H.T. Silcox, Chancellor R.P. Bowles, Rev. F. Anderson, Ir. Joseph Beech, Professor H.B. Robins.	其后每年由法人成员选举继任理事，以递补当年任期届满者。 理事产生办法： - 1名由美国浸礼会国外传道会推举 - 1名由大不列颠及爱尔兰公谊会差会推举 - 1名由加拿大卫理公会总差会推举 - 1名由美国美以美会国外传道部推举 - 1名由英国圣公会传道会推举 - 其余由大学理事会按当时章程推举 所有理事任期均为三年；理事会有权通过全体一致表决，随时调整理事人数（不少于5人，不多于25人）并确定其任期。 本特许状于1922年5月25日由纽约州大学董事会盖印颁发，档案编号3126。 副校长：阿德尔伯特·穆特 大学校长：弗兰克·L·格雷夫斯 （印章） 1923年依据本临时特许状当选之华西协合大学理事： W·C·甘茨先生、J·M·克拉克先生、C·C·巴兹利牧师、H·T·西尔科克斯先生、R·P·鲍尔斯校长、F·安德森牧师、约瑟夫·比奇牧师、H·B·罗宾斯教授。”
